Tech Support Notes for Move-in
- All of ResNet's normal support offerings will be available during Move-in Hours except Dell and Apple Warranty Repair. Due to our high volume of customer cases, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to complete warranty repairs in our normal 48-hour time frame.
- If you have a Dell Warranty issue that needs immediate attention during move-in days, ResNet staff can assist in requesting a Dell Dispatch technician come on-site to repair your computer. Normal Dell Dispatch policies and wait times will apply.
- If you have an Apple Warranty issue that needs immediate attention during move-in days, we recommend bringing your computer to your nearest Apple Store for service. The closest Apple store to campus is located at 815 Boylston St. (click here for more info).
- ResNet field teams will be located in residence halls during each hall's University-designated move-in day(s). Field technicians will walk the halls, available to assist students with registering and connecting their computers to ResNet, as well as accessing HuskyCable.
- ResNet field technicians will NOT assist with the setup and/or troubleshooting of personal wireless equipment, which is not supported by the University.
- ResNet field technicians can assist with International Village students connecting to NUwave wireless.
- If a field technician is unable to resolve an issue interfering with ResNet connection, they will escalate the case, and you may be asked to bring your computer to the ResNet Resource Center, located in Speare Commons.
- Field technicians may not be able to assist with issues unrelated to ResNet registration and connection; in these cases, you will be asked to bring your computer to the ResNet Resource Center.
