myapps for macs

Download and print this page before starting

  1. Step 1 for Faculty: Login to myNEU and click Services and Links tab. In the Faculty / Staff Services channel, click Software Download.
  2. Step 1 for Students: Login to myNEU and click the Self Service Tab. In the Study and Course Resources channel, click Software Download.
  3. Select myApps Remote Desktop Client (MAC) and then click Continue.
  4. Read the license agreement and then click Accept.
  5. If you have Stuff It Expander (or another file decompression program) on your Mac, skip this step.

    If you do not have Stuff It Expander, select Stuff It from the Software Downloads window, and then click Continue, then click Download when the window appears. When you are prompted to open or save the file, click Save. A file called StuffItExpander.dmg will appear on your desktop. Click this file to open it, and follow the on-screen directions to install Stuff It.
  6. Select Installer from the Software Downloads window, and then click Continue.
  7. Click Download.
  8. Type your myNEU username and password in the window that appears, and then click OK.
  9. When you are prompted to save a file named RDC103EN.1.dmg, click Save File.
  10. When you are prompted to open or save the file, click Save. RDC103EN.1.dmg will appear on your desktop. Click this file and Stuff it Expander will unzip and launch this file for you.
  11. You may be prompted to accept the licence agreement. Click Accept. If you are prompted to register the product, do not register and close that window.The Remote Desktop Connection icon will appear in a window.

    Drag and drop this icon into your computer's Applications folder. Open your Applications folder by clicking your computer's hard drive on your desktop, then click Applications on the left hand side of the screen. Drag the Remote Connection icon into the list of your other applications.
  12. Access myApps by typing http://myapps.NUnet.neu.edu/myapps.rdp into a web browser.
  13. Save the myapps.rdp file to your desktop when prompted. If you are using Safari, it may automatically download to your desktop.
  14. If a window appears and you are prompted for a computer name, type tsfarm01.nunet.neu.edu in the box that appears.
  15. The myApps login screen appears. The login window will read Windows Server 2003. When you are prompted to enter your username and password, type NUnet\your NUnet username for your username. Then, type in your NUnet password. In the Log on to drop down menu, select NUnet. Then click OK
  16. The myApps window appears. You will be prompted to login to your myFiles Webdrive. Use your myNEU credentials to login.
  17. Your myFiles window will open. If it takes up your entire screen, you can minimize the window by clicking the dash icon on the upper right hand side of the screen.
  18. To access myApps applications, click the Start button and then click All Programs.
  19. If you want to access your Mac desktop while you are using myApps, press the F11 key on your keyboard.
  20. To log out of myApps, click Start, then Log off.
  21. You may see the Remote Desktop Connection window on your Desktop. Click Quit to shut down the Remote Connection window.
  22. To access myApps again, just click the myapps.rdp icon on your desktop.
